Barn Owl Rescued From Freeway Traffic and Angry Crow

Our hotline, rescue team, and rehabbers all responded to a call on a Barn Owl along the freeway, huddled next to a fence. It was being mobbed by a crow, and very slightly favored one wing, just a bit sore, but there were no injuries that would necessitate it being brought into rehab as both wings very strong and it could fly and flap just fine. Our rescue volunteers, Ryan, Abraham, and Carol, got there very quickly to help it. We were so glad that it could be left out there, as nesting season has begun for these beautiful rodent killers, and it could be disastrous if there were young that weren’t incubated well in this cold, damp weather. Many thanks to Ryan, Abraham, Carol, Jane, Sam, and Kate for their immediate and energetic response, and their hearts that care for these injured wild creatures!
